Identification
Item: PZ460 'Sea Mew'.
Description: There were several PZ 460s: 'Annie' 16ft length. 1875-80; 'Sea Mew' 23.3ft length, 4 tons, 1890-92; 'Linda' 15.7ft length. 1906, Dandy rig; 'Foam' which at 38.5ft in length is too big for the boat in the image. It is thought to be the 'Sea Mew' PZ460, owner John O'Kelly. Penzance. Skipper: William Tredwen. Registered 1890-92 then sold to Galway, Ireland. She is unusual in being raised forward. The boats in the background appear to be lined up as if holding spectators for an event, possibly a regatta.
