Identification
Item: Boats in Mousehole old harbour
Description: Boats in Mousehole old harbour, taken from South Cliff. To the right is Quay Street and to the left, North Cliff. One of the boats can be identified as 'PZ. 101 Reaper'. To the left a white washed mackerel boat is laid up; to the right, mackerel boats with their sails temporarily stowed. When boats were laid up, they were sometimes white washed to prevent damage from the sun. If luggers were going to sea the same day, their sails were often given a temporary stow.
Condition: Good - slight discolouration to the right and left edges. A small amount of foxing to the bottom edge and the top half of the photograph.
