Item: Tresco Abbey gardens Long Walk
Description: A photograph of the 'Long Walk' within the gardens of Tresco Abbey at Tresco, the Isles of Scilly. The garden was built based around the ruins of St Nicholas Priory, which had fallen into disrepair in the sixteenth century. A number of people are pictured sitting on the benches either side of the pathway; the gardens were open to the public in this period. The Branwell family were on good terms with the family and liked to swop plants.
Condition: Fair - slight discolouration to the left and bottom edge of the photograph. A small amount of fading and foxing to the centre and top half of the photograph.
