Item: Dr. Syntax at Lands End
Description: A photograph of the 'Doctor Syntax', a formation of rocks at Lands End. Dr Syntax was a henpecked, simple-minded clergyman created by William Combe to accompany a series of coloured illustrations by Thomas Rowlandson. His adventures are told in eight syllabled verse in The Three Tours of Dr Syntax published in 1812, 1820 and 1821.
Condition: Good - small amount of discolouration spots across the photograph.
