Identification

Item: The marriage of Marion Branwell to John Mudge

Description: A second photograph of the marriage party to celebrate the matrimony of Marion Mudge, nee Branwell, and John Mudge. Marion was the third daughter of JR and Elizabeth Branwell, who lived at Penlee House. They stand within the grounds of Penlee House. JR Branwell sits bottom row, second from the left with his wife Elizabeth furthest right. John Mudge's mother and father sit either side of the couple. Laura Branwell stands next to John Mudge whilst Edith Branwell stands in the second row, second in from the right. Behind Marion stands (left to right) Alfred Branwell. A Clergyman stands in front of him. In contrast to PEZPH : 1993.43.153, John Branwell is now taking the photograph, as he is now absent from the picture. Elizabeth Trewhella dates this photograph to approximately 1895.

Condition: Good - discolouration to the top and left edges of the photograph.
