Item: Five Cornish luggers
Description: Five Cornish luggers on a calm sea, probably near Newlyn. Each has a number of red sails and the outline of a couple of men can be seen in the central boat. In the west, the Mounts Bay lugger was built double-ended to deal with the rough Atlantic conditions and to enable its fishermen to be able to hold a much larger catch.
