Item: South Pier, Newlyn about 1910
Description: This scene is at the junction of the slip and Fore Street. The cellar below the house with a tall chimney was a large pilchard pressing plant. The masts of a Mounts Bay lugger can be seen alongside the pier. The South Pier was built on a reef known as Green Rocks.
