Item: Virgin Street, St Ives
Description: Virgin Street in St Ives Downalong leads to the Digey and Fore Street. Its name is Virgin in the sense of new. Cats were emblematic of St Ives Downalong and were often painted onto postcards. The houses to the left, called The Digey were re-built in the 1960s. Salubrious Place is on the right. The house at the end of the street has steps to its living quarters and has a fish cellar on the ground floor.
