Item: St.Ives Harbour from Smeaton's Pier
Description: Looking towards the Wharf, St.Ives Harbour from the centre of Smeaton's Pier. Motor pilchard boats drying sails indicate that this is a Saturday. SS469 Faithful caught fire on 16 March 1922 and was sold to someone from Padstow in 1925. There is a punt with five men going ashore. Visible is the SS Rose. Shamrock Lodge is on the left with the One and All Lodge on the right of the picture. These lodges were meeting places for fishermen.
