Item: In the harbour, St. Ives
Description: St.Ives harbour from Market Strand lifeboat slip. The St Ives life boat used to be launched from the lifeboat house straight onto the sand. When the West Pier was built in 1894, the level of the sand dropped away and a new slipway was built. Centre left can be seen the Customs House and a wooden wharf just below it.
