Description: The launch of the lifeboat 'Elizabeth and Blanche II' from the Abbey Slip, Penzance. It was the first lifeboat in Cornwall, and was bought by the people of Penzance in 1803 but it was sold in 1812 due to lack of funds to keep it in operation. Elizabeth and Blanche 1 operated from 1895 to 1899. Coxswains were Henry Trewhella, Phillip Nicholls and T E Vingo.
