Item: Peace Day Parade, Penzance, Cornwall.
Description: Crowds gathered outside St John's Hall, Penzance for a 'Peace Day Parade' on 19 July 1919 or 1920. At 'Peace' meetings the previous May, the Government declared 19 July a 'Peace Day' bank holiday but it is not clear for how many years it continued. The day included a parade, a march by school children and dancing on the Promenade in the evening.
