Item: Sad news for Penzance
Description: On the balcony of the Market House, facing down Market Jew Street are, left to right are the mace bearer; Mayor, James Trezise 1946 to 1949; the Town Clerk; mace bearer; Charles Tregenza Mayor 1934 to 1935; un-named; Chaplain. The mace head is covered with a black fabric which suggests the proclamation of the death of royalty, a Freeman, former Mayor or a fatality at sea.
