Identification
Item: The Ash Wednesday Storm
Description: Impossibly high seas pound Mounts Bay. It is impossible to say exactly where this photograph was taken as it shows two sets of railings and what looks like a lamp post at right angles to the road. It could have been taken from Wharf Road showing Lighthouse Pier. The road signs needs to be identified. Under the control of the Borough Surveyor, Peter Tresidder, repairs were effected so that Penzance would be open for the summer season. He commissioned E Ford to take a set of photographs.
