Identification
Item: Cornish Cross in St Just in Penwith Churchyard
Description: This cross, thought to be 13th century, since 1965 has stood near the west gate of the churchyard. Once it was thrown over by some inebriated miners, the head separating from the shaft. Removed to the vicarage garden, it was subsequently rolled down a well. After retrieval, it formed part of the vicarage rockery. After 1869 it was moved to the new cemetery near Carn Bosavern.
