Identification
Item: St Michael's Mount, Penzance.
Description: Situate 3 miles to the east of Penzance. The photograph shows the Mount at low water, with the connecting Causeway, which may be crossed on foot for about two hours between tides. At high tide it is completely isolated form the mainland. The Castle on the summit is the seat of Lord St Levan. At the foot of the Mount is a small village and harbour. The Mount covers an extent of twenty acres, and has a population of a little over 100.
