Item: Mousehole
Description: Left of centre below the large field is the site of the late medieval market on contemporary infill behind post medieval infill where its market was sited. The medieval wharf and harbour is in the centre and the medieval wharf is on the inner arm of the harbour wall on the right which was extended in 1820. Porthengrouse was north of the stream under Brook Street. Porthenys was roughly south. Between 1870 and 1914 they merged to form Mousehole as we know it.
