Item: Penzance Military Band in the Morrab Gardens
Description: Penzance Military Band is pictured by the bandstand in Morrab Gardens. For many years, regular Sunday band concerts were held here for the delight of locals and tourists alike. The Morrab Gardens is the first public garden in Cornwall. The bandstand, donated by local coal merchant J H Bennett, was opened on 5 August 1905. The celebration included a grand concert by the Penzance Military Band and this could have been a postcard made to celebrate the event.
