Item: SS Bardic being refloated from Tranheer Reef, The Lizard on 29 September1924
Description: The White Star line steamer SS Bardic struck Vasiler Rock on Tranheer Reef at the Lizard on 31August 1924. She weighed 8,000 tons and was in ballast on her way from Liverpool to the London. She was refloated by tug on 29 September 1924 and taken into Falmouth. Either she was discharging water or moving when this picture was taken. The Lizard Lights are in the background.
