Identification
Item: Photograph of a painting of Lamorna Cove by Lamorna Birch
Description: Perhaps best known for the post impressionist artists who came to live and work here in the early part of the twentieth century. Samuel Birch took the name of the village. This print could possibly be from one of his paintings. It is painted from the area of his house and studio. The crane for loading stone onto ships from the quarry can be seen centre right. The pier has yet to be extended. Storms in the 21st century have once again put the port's future in doubt.
