The image is a view from the top of Coinagehall Street looking towards Grylls Monument (which was erected in 1834), with unidentified people posing for the camera. The buildings on the left hand side are Blackwell's Angel Hotel; AA Fines Princess Hotel; and the Blue Anchor Inn. Coinagehall Street is named after the 14th century practice where miners would assemble to have their tin tested and weighed in the Coinage Hall.
