Description: The Bolitho Gardens, sometimes called the Foster Bolitho Gardens, Penzance Promenade, built on what had been an industrial wasteland. Alexandra Terrace is in the background with what was the Bolitho Nursing Home to the left. Opened in May 1916 by Mrs Bolitho of Trewidden and Mr. R.F. Bolitho of Ponsandane, these gardens were destroyed in the Ash Wednesday Storm of 1962.
