Item: Penzance Promenade from the West.
Description: An image of Penzance Promenade with people and children walking in the foreground and the Pavilion, Queens Hotel, St Mary's Church and Bandstand (built in 1905) also in view. The Pavilion Theatre on Penzance Promenade was opened in 1911, complete with a roof garden and cafe and was developed as part of the town's leisure and tourism facilities which centred on the promenade. The theatre has taken on many forms over the years, including as a restaurant and tea rooms and is currently an amusement arcade.
