Item: Bellair House, Alverton Road, Penzance
Description: Bellair House was built in 1817 by Robert Richards who sold it to Miss Ann (Nancy) Borlase who married Michael Noel Peters in 1818. The 1841 census shows the Peters in residence and the 1911 census shows Charles and Eleanor Branwell living there. Later, it was home to the two much respected doctors, Dr Leslie and his son (also Dr Leslie) but was was destroyed in an air raid during World War Two. The remains of the house were demolished to build an ambulance station and clinic.
