Description: On the left is the Post Office; Bridger’s Library (1905-1939); W H Nankervis and Sons Restaurant; Prince of Wales Hotel which was transferred to William Phillips in 1914. The hoarding outside Martin's Chemist’s (1908 to 1920) advertises the skating rink which opened in December 1909 and was destroyed by fire in 1914; the Penzance Sanitary Steam Laundry (first mentioned in 1905 and destroyed by fire in 1914); Raleigh Cycle Depot; Taylor’s Motor and Cycle Works (referenced in the Cornishman 1902 to 1910); Bailey and Sons Restaurant; Anglo Bavarian ales (these were removed from sale in 1914. A team of working horses is pulling a large wagon down the street; a wheelbarrow lies at the bottom of the steps on the left. On the right, Nos 3 and 4 The Terrace were established in 1892; No 5 has HOSIER printed below the first floor window; this was taken over by Alfred Bradbury about 1903.Thores is written above a shop on the right.
