A space for all

Built in 1865, as the home of the Branwell family. Penlee House is home to many paintings by members of the Newlyn School. It is also home to the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society collection.

On Foot

From the bus and train station you can either walk through the town or along the harbour:

Through Town
Walk up Market Jew Street and on to Alverton Street. Turn left at Morrab Road. We are a short walk down the hill on the right, set back within the park

Along the Harbour
Follow the harbour and onto the promenade. Turn right into Morrab Road, just before the Queen’s Hotel. We are towards the top of the hill, on the left, set back within the park.

By Bus

The closest bus stop to Penlee House is Alverton Street, a short walk (about 7 minutes) through Penlee Park. Click here for the First bus timetables

By car from A30

Follow the brown tourism signs to Wellfields Car Park.

If you are using SatNav, our postcode is TR18 4HE and the directions should take you to the main public car park.

Parking

Nearest car park: Wellfields Car Park, Alverton Street Once you have parked, go through the gate at the far end of the car park into Penlee Park. If this car park is full, there are additional car parks nearby, off Penalverne Drive or Clarence Street. 

For disabled badge-holder parking, there are three disabled parking spaces located at the rear of the building (sat nav: TR18 4EP). Drive into the park via the Morrab Road entrance; the spaces are on your left.

By Bicycle

There are bike racks located by the Morrab Road entrance.

Coach Park

Coaches should park in the seafront car park at Wherrytown (on left, past Alexandra Road turning).

Coach set down point

Coaches may set down and pick up at the Morrab Road park entrance. Please ensure that you are not causing an obstruction.
