The Newlyn School artists are famous for painting outdoors, ‘en Plein air’. The Cornish light and landscape attracted painters to Newlyn, but once here, they found inspiration not just outside, but also within local homes, sail lofts and schools.
Bringing together a fine selection of Newlyn School interiors, including works by Walter Langley, Stanhope Forbes, Elizabeth Forbes, and Frank Bramley, the exhibition will give an insight into the living conditions of Victorian Newlyn.
