Item: Damage to SS Gothland, Isles of Scilly, 1914
Description: SS Gothland of the Belgian Red Star Line, travelling from New York to Antwerp, struck the Crim, Western Rocks, Scilly in fog on 23 June 1914. She carried general cargo and Belgian refugees. The passengers were rescued by the Lyonnesse and other vessels. SS Gothland was refloated by the Liverpool Salvage Company.
