Item: St Just in Penwith Parish Church from Venton East Square
Description: The house has a stone chimney; the Market Cross is 13th or 14th century. The present 2014 structure dates from the establishment of a church by Saint Just, most likely after the Anglo Saxon invasions after 428 AD. A tax valuation exists for 1291. At least four churches have been built on this site. The existing Church dates from 1334 when the Norman structure was replaced by a cruciform building. The tower and side aisles are 14th and 15th century additions. The porch is 16th century. Lafrowda or Church of the Good Cross is a name applied to St Just. The surrounding parish contains some of the earliest evidence of Celtic Christianity in Britain.
