Item: Newlyn Harbour, Penzance.
Description: Newlyn lies about a mile to the south-west of Penzance. It is very old and quaint and interesting, and therefore much frequented by artists and seekers of the picturesque. It is an important centre of the fishing industry - mackerel in the spring and pilchards in the summer and autumn. Having a population of 4500, it may be called a large village or a little town.
