Item: Myrtle Cottage
Description: The garden at Myrtle Cottage, Newlyn, home of Ryan's friend Alec Walker, founder of the Crysede textile company. This is a pencil sketch for the oil painting in Penlee's collections. On verso is another sketch the same, this one with colour notes added.
Condition: Large grease stain at top centre, caused by grey paint spilt on the paper. Some smaller stains around it. Some light foxing in bottom right. Small tear towards bottom left.
