Item: Eglosmeor Mill, Zennor, Cornwall.
Description: Eglosmeor Mill, in the valley below the church, at Zennor. The photograph is of the water power grist mill, with furse rick, used for fuel, towards the top left of the image. Until the 1860s, the mill was the home of James Stevens and his family until they moved to Sancreed. While at the Mill, he wrote a book about his farming life. In November 1894, a flood swept down the valley from Foage Down to the sea, sweeping the mill away and the two men - James Cousin and Thomas Perry - who were working the mill at the time.
