Item: R.M. Launch "Endeavour" Isles of Scilly
Description: A postcard titled "R.M. Launch "Endeavour", Scilly Isles" with 'Gibson, Scilly' printed in the bottom right hand corner. Built circa 1890 at HM Dockyards, Portland, the "Endeavour" was a Royal Navy vessel until 1907, when she was sold to the West Cornwall Steamship Company, and subsequently the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company in 1923 and Coast Lines Ltd in 1932 (when she was renamed "Ganilly") to provide inter-island launch services. In 1937, the "Endeavour" was turned into a 'Store Hulk' with engines removed by Coast Line Ltd.
