Description: The Meet of the Western Hunt in the forecourt of St John's Hall, Penzance. Left to right back row: MR M.L.Oats; Mrs C. Oats; Mr William Davey Thomas with top hat; Mr Harry Laity with top hat; his daughter Miss Anne Laity (now Mrs Brock of Cury); Mrs Greenwood Penny. Left to right front row: Mr E. Owen Wheal, Town Clerk and Barrister-at-Law; Mr William Hendy (Bill) Mumford (Caretaker of St John's Hall, retired April 1958 according to the Cornishman of 08.04.1958). Agatha Ursula Chirgwin, Penzance Mayor and Mr Duncan Simpson on foot with trilby hat, (he was a Director of Simpson's the Gents Outfitters shop in Market Place, Penzance). Agatha Ursula Chirgwin was Penzance Mayor for one year in 1955, so would date the photograph to the autumn of 1955.
