Item: Zennor Quoit, Zennor, Cornwall.
Description: A photograph of the stones forming the Zennor Quoit, after the capstone slipped from the supporting stones. According to 'Journey to the Stones' by Ian Cooke (1993): "Borlase sketched the quoit in its entirety before the 9.5 ton capstone slipped from the supporting stones - probably caused by treasure seekers digging around its base in the 18th century. In 1861, the Cornishman reported that a farmer was 're-arranging' the stones to make a cattle shelter. Reverend William Borlase (great-grandson of the aforementioned) remedied the situation, paying 5 shillings to restore what he could".
