Identification
Item: Combine threshing machine and tractor operated by two unidentified men in Ludgvan Church Town.
Description: This photograph shows two men operating the combine pulled by tractor, with one feeding the combine and the other gathering the crop into sacks, as their dog looks on. The transition from the binder and threshing machine to the combine harvester, saw these 1950s combines pulled by a tractor before the introduction of self-propelled combines in the 1960s. This 'Mashall' combine was powered by its own engine and was pulled by a Nuffield tractor. Some models were powered by the power take off direct from the tractor.
