Item: The May and the Partington in Penzance Harbour
Description: The Thames (design) barge 'May' was built of wood in Harwich in 1891 by Cann for the Cranfield Brothers of Ispwich. In 1964 she was sold to silverton Services (Tate and Lyle) for company charter. She was transported to the Canadian Great Lakes for the Olympic Games. In 2012 she is owned by G and C Gadd and is available for charter via Thomas and Orwell Marine.
