Description: St Anthony Gardens were built in 1933 on the site of Battery Square when the houses and businesses in this area were demolished as part of the government's slum clearance programme. The site is adjacent to the Chapel of St Anthony, the original site of Pensans or Holy Headland. It exists in 2012 as a pleasant and peaceful place to sit and view the bay.
