Item: A working day in Newlyn Harbour
Description: St Clair is moored beside the North Pier with Comben Longstaff being loaded with roadstone gravel from the quarry on the South Pier. The boat in the centre is PZ513 Excellent, 22.95 metres long with a 280hp Blackstone engine. She was built in 1931 at Frazerburgh, named Efficient. She was bought by Stevenson's in 1937 and requisitioned in WWll to ferry escapees from Norway to Leith. In 1945 she was rebuilt; in 1946 she was skippered by J Reynolds. In 1947 she became a side trawler. She was also skippered by Trevelyan Richards and was a top earner for the fleet.
