Item: View to the War Memorial at Penzance
Description: This postcard shows a sunny afternoon with swarms of people out walking towards the War Memorial at the end of the Promenade and Battery Rocks. In the top left of the picture can be seen a 'Pope's Drinks' cart. In 1936 the Jubilee Pool would be built on this site but this scene suggests a summer gathering at the War Memorial, perhaps when it was first built and before the official opening.
Condition: Good -some staining; dog-eared at corners.
