Item: HMS Renown in Mounts Bay 1926
Description: A photographic postcard showing two war ships in the bay of Penzance. The ship in the foreground is the H.M.S Renown, a battlecruiser (fast battleship), before it underwent a modification in 1939. The other could be her sister ship, the Repulse, which was lost with the Prince of Wales off Malaya. A platform can be seen on top of the B turret, which was used to launch aircraft. When aircraft became bigger, this was removed. In the background to the left can be seen St. Michael's Mount.
Condition: Good - residue adhesive to the reverse side where it has been taken from a paper mount
