Identification
Item: Men Scryfa
Description: Frith Postcard showing Men Scryfa, Morvah. The writing on the standing stone reads 'RIALOBRAN- CVNOVAL- FIL- (the last word is now below ground level). They are latinised versions of Celtic names. Ryalvran (Royal Raven) is pure Cornish. The second word comes from the British 'Cuno-uallos (famous leader) or in Cornish: 'Kenwal' and dated to the fifth or sixth century AD. The stone itself may have been a Bronze Age menhir.
