Item: Greetings from Penzance, c.1909
Description: This card is a golden coloured scroll on a black background with the word Greetings at the top. It could be used as a template for various locations. Here, the word Penzance has been outlined on the scroll and each letter has two photographs of the town in it. The photographs are of a thatched cottage, St Michael’s Mount, Market Jew street, the harbour, Morrab Gardens and Library, cliffs, the Promenade, Queens Hotel, stile, harbour, Lighthouse Quay, Queen’s Hotel, the Promenade, Mounts Bay Hotel, thatched cottages, boats and the Boer War Memorial. In the middle bottom of the card is the Penzance Coat of Arms with the severed head of John the Baptist on a white background with Cornwall written beneath.
