Description: The Lotus 11 was designed by Colin Chapman; the top of the range model being fitted with a 1100 cc Coventry Climax engine. About 270 were built from 1956 to 1958. Here, two men in flying helmets and gloves start their journey from Lands End to John o' Groats. Before the days of seat belts, their position looks precarious.
