Item: Penzance and District Industrial Cooperative Bakery in Bread Street, Penzance
Description: This preparation room in the bakery. Five wooden wheeled troughs stand in the centre beneath a shiny panelled ceiling. Four glass windows illuminate the front of the room. A baker stands near the window. Four small barrels are on the floor next to what looks like a waiter's dummy, which would tie in with the recess in PEZPH 1990.99. Various items lie on and are stacked below the work surface. A unit and a wide bench are to the right of the picture On the left, one of the two lights in the room is over a large linen looking bag placed over a machine. This could be a mixer or it could be to divide the loaves into pound weights. Either way, the filling of the bag would have to be done from the room above. Two buckets, apparently covered in cloth, are on the floor near the machine where two brackets have been fixed.
