Item: Chun Quoit, Morvah, West Penwith
Description: Resembling a giant mushroom, this is the only tomb of its type in perfect preservation. Its closed chamber is formed by four great slabs 1.5 m (5') thick which lean inwards supporting a 3.7m (12') square convex capstone which is up to 0.8m (2.5') thick. The remains of the former covering barrow which is still clearly visible 10.6m (35') in diameter and up to 0.9m (3') high it was of stone, part of the kerb of which remains on the North East side. A large stone on the south side of the quoit may indicate the presence of a former passage.
