Item: A man, a dog, sunshine and shadow on Penzance Promenade
Description: This photo is taken from the Western end of Penzance promenade looking towards Battery Rocks. To the left but out of sight were Batten and Couch's Wharf. The small white building seen between the 1865 railing posts is the Gun House built around 1740 as a harbour fortification in the Napoleonic Wars. Small boats can just be seen mored in the shallow pool left at low tide.
