Item: Newlyn Harbour
Description: Newlyn fishing fleet in Newlyn harbour, containing Mounts Bay Luggers and Pilchard Drivers. The South Pier and lighthouse can be seen to the right. Some of the boats are right up on the beach whilst the majority are positioned in rows slightly further out. Identifiable boats include (from the nearest) PZ. 32 'Billow'; PZ. 117 'Emblem'; PZ. 498 'Diana'; PZ. 240 'Richard & James'; PZ. 164, 'New Emerald'; PZ. 102 ' Annie Harvey'. It was taken after the completion of the South Pier in 1887 but before the extending of the North Pier in 1894.
Condition: Good - slight discolouration to the bottom and right edge. A small amount of foxing to the right side of the photograph.
