Item: Elizabeth Trewhella
Description: A photograph of who Elizabeth Trewhella refers to as Alfred Branwell, youngest son of JR and Elizabeth Branwell, who lived at Penlee House. He stands looking at the water by the further side of the pond at Penlee, which is situated near the entrance by Trewithan Road. However, the boy's age and looks suggest he is Herbert Thomas, son of Laura Branwell. The pond is covered with water lilies with a small fountain in the centre and a water shoot in the shape of a lion's head can be seen behind. In the distance is the iron fence and further fields that belong to the estate.
Condition: Good - discolouration to the left and right edges of the photograph. Spots of discolouration to the left side.
