Item: Morrab Gardens
Description: Postcard view of the fountain in the Morrab Gardens with the Morrab Library in the background. The fountain has a seal on a ball balancing a fish sprouting water. The lowest basin is supported by four carps spouting water. The insignia of 1614 is Penzance's Royal Charter Seal. The head of John the Baptist on a salver is a holy head, the literal meaning of Pensans or Penzance. The Morrab Gardens was the first public garden in Cornwall.
